Senior Josh Gracia’s four goals led a balanced Fleming Island offense as the host Golden Eagles blasted Bishop Snyder 18-4 in non-district play Wednesday night. Ten Fleming Island players scored for the hosts, who scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back. Sophomore Sam Barrington, who finished with three assists, won the faceoff and scored on the game’s opening possession. Daniel Schreiber and freshman Jack Hawley each registered a hat trick, while attack Devan Marquis had four assists. Fleming Island, now 7-4, extended its winning streak to four games on the season, and has won its last three by a combined score of 51-13. Though Bishop Snyder only managed nine shots overall, the Cardinals made them count, scoring on almost half of them. Senior Wyatt Gasparac found the net three times, while junior Nick Cleland had Bishop Snyder’s other goal. Nathan Cleland made thirteen saves in goal for Bishop Snyder. Both teams return to action Friday, April 11. Fleming Island entertains St. Augustine in its home finale at 7:00 p.m., while the Cardinals, who fall to 2-11, host Jackonville Robert E. Lee.
