The Florida Launch and defenseman P.T. Ricci have agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2018 season. “P.T. is a veteran of the MLL and knows how to be successful. He is a competitor who is also a tremendous teammate,” said Launch Head Coach Tom Mariano. “He is committed to building the Launch into a great franchise.” Ricci, a seventh-year man out of Loyola College, was selected by the Chesapeake Bayhawks with the 11th overall pick in the 2009 MLL Collegiate Draft. The former MLL All-Star has an impressive resume having won consecutive championships with the Bayhawks and Boston Cannons in 2010 and 2011 respectively. He was acquired by the Launch in 2014. “I couldn’t be any happier to be back with the Launch for the next two years. It’s a great group of guys who I’m looking forward to competing for a championship with,” said Ricci. “We have a tremendous amount of talent that will play hard and put together a season the fans have been waiting for.” Ricci has been a key piece in the Launch defense since joining the team three seasons ago. Since 2014, he has collected 135 ground balls and tacked on nine points. The first game of the 2017 season for the Launch will come against Ricci’s former team, the Boston Cannons, on April 22 in Florida.
