Have to admit this one slipped by me . . . MLL now has a new counterpart . . . okay, not quite the same level, but it is a start. United Women’s Lacrosse League   From the press release: The United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) is the first professional women’s lacrosse league in the world!  It’s been launched by the United Women’s Sports, LLC in collaboration with the Play It Forward Sport Foundation in Boston, Mass. This female owned and operated company was formed with the primary objective of establishing women’s pro leagues for a variety of sports, thereby creating opportunities for women at all levels of professional sports.  With the launch of UWLX, 100 such opportunities are being created from athletes to operations and executive management. The League will start 4 teams in Baltimore, Boston, Long Island and Philadelphia this year, and all post-college players, graduating by May 30, 2016 and who are at least 20 years of age are eligible to enter the Draft.  Any interested player MUST register for the Draft to be considered for a team; the Draft registration period is open until midnight on March 31, 2016 and can be accessed using the link on the right.  GM’s and Coaches will draft players and make final team selections of 17 active and 3 reserve players in early May. The 2016 schedule will kick off on May 28 during the Final Four weekend in PA.  The inaugural season will run for 10 weeks during the summer and culminate with a championship weekend on July 30. Season passes, which allow entrance to any game played during the season and individual game tickets will go on sale online in April.  Be sure to signup for our emails so you can stay up to date about the Draft and upcoming events!!   On Wednesday the league drafted their inaugural teams and the results are as follows:
