Harris Stolzenberg tied the national high school all-time single-game scoring record, broke the all-time high school state of Florida single game goals scored and single game points scored, and scored the most high school individual game goals and points for a high school player nationally this season in convincing style yesterday when he scored 19 points – 13 goals and 6 assists, in Pine Crest School’s 26-4 win against Taravella. The feat was even more impressive, given that Stolzenberg did not even play in the second half of the game! This brings Harris’ goals season-to-date to 76 and his assists to 41 for a season-to-date total points scored of 117. Stolzenberg, a junior attackman at the Fort Lauderdale prep school, even racked up 9 ground balls as well in this amazing first half of play. With this win, Pine Crest improved their record to 11-3. Also scoring for Pine Crest were Zach Smith, the standout freshman midfielder who had 4 goals & 2 assists and Sebastian Gutierrez, the sophomore middie who added another 3 goals and 3 assists. Four different players scored the four goals for Taravella. Sam Talkow for Pine Crest controlled the face off x 82% of the time bringing his season average to 75%.
