Lake Highland maintained the top spot in this week’s coach’s poll on the strength of two convincing wins over quality opponents.  They defeated Oviedo 19-9 and Bolles 13-1. St. Andrews maintained their hold on the second spot and looked good doing it.  They went 3-0 beating Columbus 17-0, Bishop Moore 10-3, and Lake Mary 9-0. Benjamin took the third spot away from Ponte Vedra.  They won 22-1 and 15-3 this week.  Ponte Vedra took it to OT to get past Lake Mary and convincingly beat Bartram Trail 12-3 and they are now in the fourth place in our poll.  St. Thomas Aquinas stays at the fifth spot with wins over Columbus and American Heritage. Winter Park stays at six after beating Lake Brantley who was in the eighth spot last week.  Boone moved from nine to seven after an exciting victory over Timber Creek.  Boca Raton moved from the tenth spot up to eight with wins over Park Vista 16-4 and Cardinal Newman 19-5. Jupiter moves into the top ten this week after beating up on Gulliver Prep 18-2 and John Carroll Catholic 16-1.  Timber Creek hangs onto the final spot in our top- ten poll this week after losing to Boone by one and cruising past University 18-2. Lake Brantley fell out of the top ten this week but did still receive some votes.  Other teams getting votes this week included Barron Collier, Bartram Trail, Bishop Moore, Creekside, Episcopal Jacksonville, and Maclay.

The FloridaLacrosseNews.com “Game of the Week” is clearly going to be the long awaited match up of The Benjamin School and Saint Andrew’s.  This game is looked upon by many of the measure of the gap between the top FHSAA schools and the top SFIA schools. The other game this week creating a lot of buzz is the match-up between Ponte Vedra and Lake Highland Prep.  These two games this week mirror FloridaLacrosseNews.com’s season preview pick for the final four.
