Northwestern’s Christy Turner saw plenty of time as a defender during the 2012 US Lacrosse Champion Challenge held January 27-29, 2012 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida. Christy is a graduate of Timber Creek High School, and friends and family from the school packed the stands to watch her play during the event. It was not difficult to know when Christy had the ball or made a great defensive play – cheers erupted from the bleachers. Before heading back with the team to Chicago, CHristy took time out for an interview with InsideFloridaLacrosse and discussed her team’s play during the weekend, Northwestern’s upcoming season opener at Stanford, what it’s like playing against the former Wildcats on TeamUSA, her club background with LaxManiax and Xteam, and her advice for young players looking to improve their game.
