Jacksonville Lacrosse Club announces 2011 Fall Field Academy

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
JLC’s 2011 Fall Field Academy was designed to provide boys lacrosse athletes of North Florida a great alternative to fall travel lacrosse that is affordable, requires no travel outside of Jacksonville, and offers the same professional on field instruction and direction in a team environment as our Elite Travel Program. Our Fall Field Academy was created with the intention of allowing athletes to compete in other fall sports while keeping a stick in their hand during the off season and to supplement the area’s high school fall ball programs.   8:1 Player-to-Coach Ratio Our Academy sessions are loaded with proven educators from college coaches to high school coaches and former collegiate players with a 8:1 player-to-coach ratio. Our coaches are hand-picked for their lacrosse expertise, their ability, and desire, to teach young players and for their ability to responsibly supervise students. Athletes of JLC return home as better lacrosse players largely due to the amount of individual attention they receive. Individual Teaching Progression Our comprehensive individualized teaching progression serves the needs of all skill levels per age division. Athletes will work in groups based upon skill level, experience, and lacrosse IQ. All players are individually evaluated. They progress through weekly, fundamental station work, individual positional work, competitive position drills, systematic unsettled play concepts and, finally, team play, where new skills and concepts are applied.  We also have weekly specialized coaching in goalie play and face-offs.
