JLC back in action this weekend at the ‘Sunshine State Games’ in Gainesville, Fla STUART, Fla. – The Jacksonville Lacrosse Club found an ideal way to open up the 2011 season last weekend as four of eleven competing sides took home championships in the Martin County Shootout in Stuart, Fla. With JLC teams in all four divisions, the High School National Gold (U-19), U-15 Gold and U-13 Gold all earned undefeated weekends while High School Regional White (U-17) also turned in a championship performance. “Our players come together from many different middle and high schools in Jacksonville, and in a short few weeks, they have shown a great ability to improve their skills with focused effort and teamwork,” said Matthew Kerwick, director of curriculum for the JLC.  “The host club was very impressed with our boys and their families, making this a great start to the season.” While four teams brought home championships, the other seven JLC sides showed that there are signs of good things to come this season with the U-13 Silver falling in the championship of its division and the High School National Silver (U-19), High School Regional Gray (U-17), High School Regional Green (U-17), U-15 Silver, U-15 White and U-13 White all reaching the semifinals of their respective divisions. Jacksonville Lacrosse Club will be back in action this weekend at the Sunshine State Games in Gainesville, Fla. in the University of Florida’s new lacrosse stadium and will follow with the Father’s Day Invitational in Orange Park, Fla.
