Jacksonville, Fla.- Freshman Jen Cosgrove earned “Rookie of the Week” honors after scoring four goals to lift JU to a season-opening 18-10 victory over Cincinnati. Cosgrove became the first player to win the award in the 2011 season. Cosgrove tallied four goals on just six shots over the Big East-member Bearcats. The Stevensville, Md. native fired five shots on goal. She scored twice in the first half to help the Dolphins build a three-goal cushion en route to a wire-to-wire victory. The first-year forward also added a second-half free position goal for an insurance marker. JU will next be in action on Wednesday when it hosts local-rival Florida. The Dolphins will be looking for its first victory against a nationally ranked opponent when it welcomes the No.17 Gators to Ashley Sports Complex. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
