Also entering the rankings this week are: East Syracuse-Minoa (Syracuse, N.Y.), Lake Highland Prep (Orlando, Fla.), Penncrest (Media, Pa.) and Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.). Surprise Team: It is difficult to list the defending Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association champions as a surprise team, but Loyola-Blakefield’s win over Gilman (Baltimore, Md.) last week caused quite a shuffle among the Top 25. The Dons went 3-0 last week after dropping a game to St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia, Pa.) the previous week. They have more chances for surprises this week with games against No. 1 Boys’ Latin and No. 5 McDonogh. High Riser: Loyola-Blakefield (Towson, Md.) moves up 22 spots this week and made enough noise to cause the movement of three other teams this week. Gilman’s loss to Loyola caused them to drop and due to earlier results dropped St. Paul’s (Brooklandville, Md.) and Haverford School (Haverford, Pa.). On the Cusp:Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore, Md.) was 11 points outside the FAB 50 this week and with games coming up against conference opponents could move into the rankings with wins this week. Even though Conestoga (Berwyn, Pa.) fell out this week, history dictates the Pionners have not seen the last of the rankings this year. FAB 50 Breakdown By State: N.Y. 17; MD 12; Pa. 6; N.J. 4; Fla. 2; Calif. 1; Colo. 1; Conn. 1; D.C. 1; Del. 1; Ind. 1; Mich. 1; N.C. 1; Texas 1.
