By Emily Herr This past week, the Team Florida Game of the week was chosen to be the Benjamin Buccaneers vs. Jupiter Christian High School Eagles match-up. This was another round in the 2011 State lacrosse tournament, held as Boca High this year. The un-defeated Benjamin High School led the game with a 16-10 finish over Jupiter Christian in this high-energy match-up.                 This past year, Benjamin High School’s boy’s lacrosse has been un-defeated and held the place as the number one team in the state, making them a clear favorite for this game. Jupiter Christian on the other hand, after a victory over the formally number second ranked team in the state, Boca High, was placed at number seven in the state. Before last Friday’s game, Jupiter had won ten games in a row.                 In the first quarter of the game, the Eagles score just a few minutes into it, followed by a goal by Benjamin goal as well. With about three minutes left in the quarter, the game was a 2-2 tie, until the Buccaneers’ sophomore Robert Jacobs scored a goal which put his team in the up by a one. The second quarter consisted of more neck-and-neck playing, with multiple goals by both teams.

The third quarter is when Benjamin really took a lead over Jupiter, with goals by Benjamin players, Robert Jacobs and Nick Gardner. In the fourth quarter, Benjamin scored a multitude of goals, especially by Nick Gardner. Jupiter also scored goals by Phillip Benz. The undefeated Benjamin team proved to be victorious in this game once more, as they beat the Jupiter team by six points. The final score was 16-10.                 The next game in the State lacrosse match-up will be against the winner of the previous game which was Tampa Jersuit as well as Benjamin High School, as both teams go on to the next level of the competition.                 All in all it was an exciting game, and the Buccaneer seniors that are going on to the next round are, Joshua Stauffer, Charles Collins and Justin Boufford, as well as a team of talented players led by Coach Cheatham.
