Jupiter Clinches First Seed in District With Home Win Over Jupiter Christian

Jupiter won the crosstown rivalry game Thursday night by a score of 11-1. Jupiter started strong, with 6 unanswered goals in the first quarter, followed by a 4-0 run in the second quarter. Jupiter Christian scored its goal in the 3rd quarter and Jupiter added a goal in the 4th quarter. Jupiter advances to 14-0 on the season and 5-0 in district play. On offense for the Warriors, Peter Cox was the leading scorer with 2 goals and 2 assists. Kevin Fallon added 3 goals and Brandon Scheele had 2 goals. Steven Cox, James Holdt and Daniel Soviero each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Jesse Foertmeyer added 2 assists, Zach Crotty had 1 goal and Ben White had 1 assist. Jupiter’s defense held Jupiter Christian to 1 goal and 1 assist. Jared Hebert had 4 ground balls and 1 takeaway, Shane Bogue had 2 ground balls and 1 takeaway, John Flannery had 1 ground ball and 1 takeaway, Connor Alexander and Braylen Sampson each had 1 ground ball. Goalie Stone Wharton had 14 saves with a save percentage of 93% for the night. For Jupiter Christian, Austin Morris scored one goal, assisted by Kevin Meyer. Kevin Meyer had 8 ground balls and Nate Cannon had 5 ground balls and 1 takeaway. Jupiter Christian’s goalie Lardner had 15 saves.
