Jupiter Prepares for One of the Biggest Lacrosse Days In Florida History

Jupiter High School, the Town of Jupiter and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission are partnering to host the 2016 FHSAA Boys and Girls Lacrosse State Championships at Velocity Community Credit Union Stadium on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30, 2016. YouthClinicAdScreenRes-01More than 2,500 people are expected to attend over the FHSAA Final Four Weekend. April Madness for Florida Lacrosse started at the beginning of April with 132 girls teams and 132 boys teams making the playoffs. Through a single-elimination tournament throughout Florida that field has been narrowed to the top four girls teams and the top four boys teams. This weekend will feature the best of Florida lacrosse, with many of the top players moving on to play in college. Semi-Final Games on Friday April 29 The gates open Friday at 11:30am. Parking for the day is $5 per car and $50 for fan buses. The girls semi-final games are at 1:00pm (Olympia Orlando vs. Bartram Trail) and 3:00pm (American Heritage Delray Beach vs. Vero Beach). The boys semi-final games are at 5:00pm (Lake Highland Prep vs. Ponte Vedra) and 7:00pm (St. Thomas Aquinas vs. Benjamin). Admission is $8 per FLNSeniorAllStarGameAd-HiResperson and is good for the whole day. Fans who come for the girls games are encouraged to stay and watch the boys. Fans who are coming for the boys games should stop by early and watch the girls. While similar, the games are different enough to see them both.  the Concession stand is open all day. JTAA Lacrosse Youth Clinic for boys and girls Saturday at 9:00am The gates open Saturday at 8:00am. Parking for the day is $5 per car and $50 for fan buses. Starting at 9:00am, JTAA Lacrosse has arranged for top coaches from all over Florida, plus two current professional men’s players from the Florida Launch to conduct a skills clinic for youth players up to 8th grade, limited to the first 40 boys and the first 40 boys. The cost is $15 per player and advance registration is required.  This $15 cost includes one ticket to the FHSAA Championship Games later that day. You can also purchase additional tickets for the FHSAA games at the same site and on Saturday morning. JTAA Lacrosse hosting FloridaLacrosseNews.com Senior All Star Games JTAA Lacrosse is also hosting the annual FloridaLacrosseNews.com  Senior All Star Games for graduating seniors, with the girls game at 11:00am and the boys game at 1:00pm. These players from teams throughout the state will gather for one last game and be honored for the performance throughout their high school careers. Just like football’s Pro Bowl, those seniors playing on the two final teams will be recognized but will not play in the game. This event will showcase many of the best players in Florida and add to the weekend’s excitement. Tickets are $7 at the gate and can be purchased in advance at www.floridalacrossenews.com. You can also purchase tickets for the FHSAA games at the same site and at the gate – they are good for the whole day. Girls State Championship Game at 4:05pm Come early to get inside before the crowd to watch the first draw as the best two teams in the state battle for the 2016 Championship. Florida lacrosse has been growing at an incredible pace with the number and skill of the players getting bigger and stronger every year. Many of Florida’s best players go on to play in college. Tickets are $8 and are good for the boys game as well. Boys State Championship Game at 7:05pm Get there early so you don’t miss a minute of the game. As with the girls, the boys Championship will feature the best teams in Florida and players going on to play at the next level in college. Tickets are $8 and good for the girls game. If you are a girls lacrosse player or fan, stay for the boys Championship. Plan to join for both days and certainly for the whole days Saturday for a great community event.
