Jupiter Wins District 21 Championship

Jupiter defeated Jupiter Christian 15-4 to win the District 21 Championship Thursday night. Craig Coughlin scored the first two goals assisted by James Holdt and Peter Cox, followed by a goal by James Holdt assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer. Jupiter Christian scored the next two, the first by Austin Morris assisted by Ben Yetman followed by an unassisted goal by Kevin Meyer. Jupiter closed out the first quarter with an unassisted goal by Zach Crotty, a goal by James Holdt assisted by Peter Cox and an unassisted goal by Jesse Foertmeyer. Starting the second quarter with Jupiter ahead 6-2, Jupiter Christian defenseman Colin Hayek scored a goal unassisted. Jupiter answered quickly when Kevin Fallon scored a goal unassisted, followed by defenseman Braylen Sampson’s goal assisted by Zach Crotty, Steven Cox’s goal assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer, and Craig Coughlin’s goal assisted by James Holdt. With 1:14 left in the second quarter the game was delayed 30 minutes by lightning with Jupiter ahead 10-3. After the break and a short halftime, Peter Cox scored for Jupiter assisted by Tyler Lombardo. After the second lightning delay, Jupiter Christian scored quickly with an unassisted goal by Ben Yetman. Jupiter closed the quarter with an unassisted goal by Zach Crotty. At the end of the third quarter, Jupiter’s lead was 12-4. The fourth quarter was all Jupiter, with two goals by Craig Coughlin assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer and the final goal by Jesse Foertmeyer for the win 15-4. Jupiter advances to 17-2 on the season and will play the winner of the Benjamin v. Palm Beach Gardens game on Friday. That game will be Tuesday night at 7:00pm at Jupiter High School.
