Lady Scots avoid 2nd half Shark attack – St Andrew’s 9, Spanish River 8

Spanish River fell short by 1 goal in a second half surge against St. Andrews in both teams’ first District 21 game.  St. Andrews dominated the 1st half of the game with their leading scorer Kendall Greenberg.  The score at half was St. Andrews 8, Spanish River 3.  Spanish River came back in the second half and held St. Andrews to 1 goal.  Spanish River’s goalie Alexis Romero had 19 saves to help Spanish River come back in the second half. Leading scorers for St. Andrews were: Kendal Greenberg – 5 goals, Allie Russo – 3 goals, and Lilly Applefield – 1 goal. Leading scorers for Spanish River were: Claire Dykas – 3 goals,  Georgie Danks – 3 goals, Liz Musinsky – 1 goal, and Mallorie Shawe (St Leo, 2012) – 1 goal, 1 assist. The Lady Scots travel to play Martin County and the Pine School (District 18) on Saturday.  Spanish River has another District 21 game against Olympic Heights next Tuesday.
