Mar. 20th – Lake Highland (9-1; 3-0 District 11) bounced back from its lone defeat of the season this evening and defeated the visiting Hornets of Bishop Moore 14-5.  The Highlanders are now 3-0 in District 11 play and can clinch the district regular season title with a victory over Edgewater this Thursday at CNL Stadium.  Bishop Moore took an early 1-0 lead when Addison Lanpher scored the first of his team leading three goals at the 10:05 mark of the first quarter.  Lake Highland quickly responded and scored the games next seven goals including four in a :40 span at the end of the first period highlighted by a rocket of a goal by Junior midfielder Devon Lewis and a clean face-off win, drive and unassisted score by Senior midfielder Chris Medary.  LHP led 8-2 at the intermission.  The Hornets would score three unanswered goals late in the third quarter and early in the fourth to cut the Highlander lead to 9-5 but Lake Highland would pull away in the fourth quarter, taking advantage of numerous untimely Bishop Moore penalties, scoring the games final five goals.  LHP was once again led in the scoring column by Senior attackman Austin Tamayo (2G, 5A) while Junior midfielder Ryan Johnson recorded a hat trick (3G), and Junior attackmen Clay Phillips (2G, 2A) and Billy Roll (1G, 2A) continued to make important contributions to the Highlander offense.  The Lake Highland defense played strong once again and Sophomore goalie Alex Acuna recorded the win.
