Mar. 3rd – Lake Highland (4-0; 0-0 District 11) pulled out a 14-11 victory this afternoon over the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders in a hard fought but turnover filled contest between two of Florida’s top young programs.  In a back and forth contest, neither team held more than a two goal advantage until the Highlanders pulled away in the 4th quarter when they scored the games final five goals and held the Raiders scoreless from the 1:39 mark of the third quarter through the final horn.  Lake Highland was led by Senior Austin Tamayo (3G, 5A) and Junior Clay Phillips (5G, 1A).  Juniors Devon Lewis and Billy Roll each contributed two goals and two assists.  Freshman Goalie Sam Webster got the win in relief of starter Alex Acuna.  The Highlanders now prepare to open District 11 play this coming Tuesday night, traveling to Boone HS for a 7:30 game.
