The Matanzas high school Pirates ended a 3 game skid with a win over Gainesville-Buchholz on Tuesday night. John Michael Cissell led the way with 5 goals and 2 assists, while Sean Wilson and Kyle Williams also added 2 goals apiece for the Pirates. Overall, 9 players contributed goals for Matanzas. Both teams opened the game with 3 quick goals, before the Pirates began to pull away, making the score 12-4 at halftime, and holding on for the win despite many late game penalties for the Pirates. This is the Pirates first home win of the season.  The Pirates (2-3) host Winter Springs (1-2) on Friday and the Bobcats (4-2) travel to Leon (1-4) on Saturday.
