Mike Jones Named New Head Coach at Maclay

Mike Jones has been named the new head coach at Maclay School in Tallahassee. Jones is a Florida product having played at Flagler Palm Coast High School, graduating in 2005 as the starting goalie. He was two-time district champion and All District player.  He graduated from Stetson University in 2009. He currently coaches for Florida possums and has done so since 2005 and Team Florida since 2010. Other high school stops have included Creekside High School, Ponte Vedra high school, and most recently at Matanzas High School in roles from defensive/offensive coordinator to head coach. When asked about the change Jones said, “I am excited to step into a well established program with a rapidly rising reputation of winning. Our goal is to compete not only in north Florida, but establish the program as a state leader. Chuck Minter has done a great job and I look forward to taking the program to the next level and compete for regional and state titles.”
