Nathan Snitz to Replace Retiring Brian Johnson at West Boca

BOCA RATON, FL (November 17, 2016) – West Boca Raton High School announced on Monday that Nathan Snitz has been named the Head Boy’s Lacrosse Coach. Coach Snitz replaces Brian Johnson who retired after three seasons. “We are very excited to bring Nathan back to West Boca and welcome him to the West Boca Community again. Nathan consistently impressed all whom he met during the process and I am confident he will be able to lead our young team with great skill building on the solid base that was established by Coach Johnson” said Brad Bluhm, West Boca’s Director of Athletics. Coach Snitz began his career at West Boca in 2011 and coached there till 2013 helping lead the bulls to their best record in school history in 2012. Snitz comes back home to West Boca from Parkland, Florida where he coached under Ryan Burton for Stoneman Douglas High School boy’s lacrosse team since the spring of 2015. During his time at Douglas he helped lead the Eagles to 2 consecutive regional playoff appearances and 2 district titles. Coach Snitz also serves as a Head Coach for the Stealth Lacrosse Club in Parkland, FL. An attendee of Florida Atlantic University, he was one of the original founders of the FAU Men’s Lacrosse club and served as the Vice President for 4 years. Coach Snitz was also a two-time captain and the 2015 team Offensive MVP. “I’m very thankful for the opportunity that the West Boca administration has given me. I am extremely excited to get the season rolling and build on the success of this young program,” said Snitz. “I feel very fortunate that Nathan has accepted this position. It was very important for us to put in place a coach that can continue the success our program has achieved. Nathan’s experience at the college and high school level and the success he’s been apart is quite impressive. I am excited to have him get started working with our boys and filling out his staff” said Bluhm. About West Boca Raton Community High School West Boca Raton Community High School is an accredited public high school in an unincorporated area west of Boca Raton, Florida. The school is part of the School District of Palm Beach County and is zoned for the far western area of Boca Raton, with students from any part of the Palm Beach County School District able to enroll if they are accepted into at least one academy. Its curriculum includes a set of magnet programs, or academies, available to all students who qualify. Academies offered at West Boca High include Medical Science, Information Technology, Drafting and Design, Culinary Arts, and a new Performing Arts Academy scheduled to begin in the 2016-2017 school year.
