Oak Hall Wins OT Thriller over Buchholz

Oak Hall escapes with a win over Buchholz in an OT thriller 7-6.

In a tight district match-up between these two schools in District 7, the district play-off picture has become a little clearer.  Will Dodd, got things started for Buchholz with the first goal of the game 7 minutes into the first quarter. The lead changed multiple times in this game with Oak Hall leading 2-1 after the 1st quarter, a 4-4 tie at half, and a 6-5 Buchholz lead at the end of 3 quarters.  Oak Hall tied the game in the 4th and maintained possession at the end of the game and into OT. Due to a late Buchholz penalty that lead to the man-up winning goal by Oak Hall’s Luke Caputer. Oak Hall scorers: Tyler Baggett (3 g), Jake Kirschner (2 g, 1 a), Brad Pita (1 g), and Luke Caputer (1 g). Buchholz scorers: Max Troha (3 g), Ben Vogel (1 g, 1 a), Jacob Markham (1 g), Will Dodd (1 g), and Pierce Skidmore (1 a). Oak Hall moves to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the district. Oak Hall will take on Trinity Catholic (6-2, 4-0 district) on 3/27 in a battle for the 1st seed while Buchholz (3-7, 3-2 district) has locked up the 3rd seed and will await a rematch against one of these two opponents in the play-offs.
