Pine Crest School Hires Wittenberg University’s George Harris

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Pine Crest School director of athletics Keith Flynn announced today that George Harris has been named the school’s Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach and head of the boys lacrosse program.

“We are thrilled to have George join us here at Pine Crest. He has tremendous experience and an obvious love of the game, and most importantly, a genuine passion for teaching the game and mentoring student-athletes.” Harris comes to Pine Crest following an eight year stint as the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Division III Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. While there, Coach Harris inherited a 2-12 program, and turned it into a conference champion and NCAA tournament participant in 2010 and 2011. In 2010 he was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. Prior to his tenure at Wittenberg, Coach Harris was the First Assistant Coach at Harvard University from 2002 to 2005, an Assistant Coach at Cornell University from 2001 to 2002, the Assistant Coach at Colgate University from 1996 to 2001, and the Head Coach at Skidmore College from 1993 to 1996. Coach Harris graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Business Management in 1989 and a MS in Physical Education in 1993.
