Plant was led on offense by senior attackman Henry Brannan with 3 goals and 2 assists, junior attackman Matt Geary with 4 goals, junior middie Eric Cotty with 2 goals, 2 assists and 2 groundballs, and junior middie “Choo” Kornitzer with 1 goal and 2 assists to go along with 6 groundballs. On defense, Plant was led once again by senior defender Bennett Taylor (Army) with 4 groundballs and 4 takeaways to go along with 2 goals, and junior defender Egan Baber with 4 groundballs and 4 takeaways. Limiting the Steinbrenner Warriors to 3 goals was Plant’s sophomore goalie, Jack Schifino, who had another stellar performance with 14 saves.   It was a solid effort all-around by Plant with 9 players having either an assist or a goal and 15 players with at least one ground ball. Next up is a matchup between two of Hillsborough County’s best programs in Newsome and Plant. Newsome’s recent victory over Dr. Phillips proves that there’s some quality lacrosse being played in Hillsborough County.
