Rebecca Sheinfeld – Sr Captain (Midfielder) American Heritage School (Plantation) has committed to play Division-1 Women’s Lacrosse at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Campbell plays in the Big South Conference and will field its inaugural team in the 2012-2013. The conference will consist of Campbell, Coastal Carolina, High Point, Liberty, Presbyterian College and Winthrop. With six initial members, the Big South is immediately eligible to apply for an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship. At St. Thomas Aquinas High School her first two years, Rebecca was Freshman of the Year for St. Thomas. She was awarded the Broward County All-District 2nd Team Midfield Award Sophomore year. She was also St. Thomas’ “Unsung Hero” recipient her Sophomore year. As the Junior Captain at American Heritage she was on the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel Broward County All-District 1st team as a midfielder and 1st team All-County. She was 2nd team All-Region. Rebecca is also a U.S. Lacrosse 2011 Academic All-American. Rebecca lead American Heritage last year with 34 goals, 32 assists for a 5.0769 points per game average. Rebecca also had 111 ground balls and 71 caused turnovers. She is a Presidential Scholarship recipient at Campbell University.
