Ryan Brady, Jesuit Attack, commits to Washington & Lee

Ryan Brady committed to Coach Gene McCabe that he will be joining the Washington & Lee Generals lacrosse team. Ryan’s choice of W&L came after seriously considering offers from Holy Cross, Lafayette, the University of Tampa and a host of other division 1 and 3 schools. Ryan is currently a senior at Jesuit High School in Tampa, where he anchors the attack. Washington & Lee, a Division 3 program located in Lexington Virginia, has a storied history in lacrosse, with impressive facilities and coaching commitment to excellence. Ryan’s decision was based as much on the academic offerings at W&L as the lacrosse program, and he expects to pursue the Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics. “Everyone I met, whether they played lax or not, told me going to W&L was the best decision they every made,” commented Ryan following his official visit. The school’s roots include an original endowment from George Washington, as well as a tenure by Robert E. Lee as the school’s president. It is a campus full of traditions with a challenging academic program that is ranked highly on almost any listing. Ryan credits much of his development as a player to Coach Bill Shatz of the Tampa Bay Fire, who showed early confidence in his capabilities and potential to be a college player. He also would like to thank the Team Florida coaching staff, including Jeff Goldberg, Chris Spaulding and Tom West. Ryan is looking forward to a strong finish this spring with the Jesuit team, playing for coaches John Matzke, Paul Goldsmith, and Scott Curtis hoping to improve on their recent success as FHSAA District Champions in 2011.
