SSC Powerhouse Florida Southern Adds Spanish River’s Lizzy Lynch

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .

Lizzy Lynch, who was recently featured here on FLN as one of the “Players to Watch,” has committed to Florida Southern.  FSC has won both regular season Sunshine State Conference Championships.  The Mocs went undefeated in SSC play last year before going on to win the NCAA DII National Championship.

The Spanish River junior has been playing lacrosse for eleven years. During her elementary and middle school years she played with Boca Jets Lacrosse, one of Florida’s first and finest recreation leagues.

She has played travel lacrosse for the invitation only Florida Select team for the past six seasons and it’s a decision she has been happy with. “We are nationally ranked and have beat some of the top teams in the nation. I want to thank all the players and coaches for their support.”  Florida Select is coached by Rob Wurzburger, John McClain, and Rich Mullen.

Lynch has played both varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse since her freshman year. She was selected by her coach, Jarlyn Matthews, and teammates to be a Captain for the 2016-2017 lacrosse season.  She commented, ” This is an honor since I am a Junior. I am proud of this team.”

“One of my goals is to play college lacrosse! Now my hard work has paid off. I have committed to play for Florida Southern College, under Head Coach Kara Reber. The Florida Southern Mocs are the NCAA Division II 2016 Champions. I am so excited to be playing for this great team and coaching staff and will be proud to call myself a FSC Moc!” If you have made a college commitment please click on this link – http://fln.mattplu.com/submit-recruit-info/ and let us know so we can share the great news.
