St. Andrew’s Andy Wheeler gets a shot on goal
The Scots filled the nets in their first home game of the season, running away with a 23-2 victory over Palm Beach Garden. The Scots were able to create several turnovers which resulted in many fast break and unsettled opportunities. Attackmen Conor Whipple (7 goals, 3 assists), Jake Levine (3 goals, 2 assists), and midfielder Andy Wheeler (3 goals) benefitted from the Scots pressure ride and strong transition game. Stephen Reall, Bobby Rauch, Cole Mulligan, and Addison Lutes chipped in with two goals each. Keith Mahler and Jason Weprin added single tallies. Thomas Lounsbury, Reid McCool, and Michael Armour led the defensive effort. Goalies Corey Etcheverry and Connor Poetzinger each played a half. Poetzinger held the Gators scoreless in the second half, including a great point-blank save. The Scots improve to 2-0.
