State Tournament Round 1 – There are some great games all over the state tonight!

Tallahassee – Maclay is hosting Episcopal at 7:00.  This should be a great game.  Episcopal is 11-5 and Maclay is 12-4.  Both are solid teams.  If you are in Tallahassee go out and see some great lacrosse tonight at Maclay. Jax – Two games tonight Ponte Vedra is hosting Flagler at 7:00.  PV should run away with this but Flagler has some very talented players and we can guarantee they will not quit.  PV will have to play all 48 minutes tonight. Bolles will host Providence at 7:00 – Bolles has had their struggles this season but have found themselves in the first round. Providence was not the top seed in their district but could be peaking at the right time.  This could be the best game in town tonight. Central Florida – Three Good Games Tonight Lake Brantley vs. Lake Mary – LB won the regular season match up by 2 goals.  But Lake Mary has won 11 of 12 games since then.  LB limped into the playoffs with 3 straight losses in the last week of the regular season.  This is going to be another great Central Florida lacrosse game.  Game is at Lake Mary at 7:00. Lake Highland Prep  at West Orange  7:00 – West Orange has a great group of seniors that have done a great job with that program.  But nothing is going to stop Lake Highland at this point.  Too much speed, too much depth, too much athleticism. Timber Creek at Winter Park – 8:00 – Always a great game between these two teams.  Lots of great match ups on the field.  Winter Park has the edge, but Timber Creek has always made these games interesting.  This is a toss-up. Tampa – Estero travels up to Tampa Jesuit 7:00 – Tampa Jesuit has played one of the toughest schedules in the state.  They are better than their 10-6 record would indicate.   Estero will have to play great to stop this team. – Barron Collier to host Gulf Coast at 7:00 – BC won the regular season meeting 19-2. Space Coast – Vero Beach travels to Melbourne Central Catholic 7:00 – MCC has played a total of two teams with winning records this season.  Vero is not coming out of a real tough district, but they have played a much stronger schedule with mixed results.  Our prediction is Vero running away with this and MCC gets more penalties than goals. SoFlo – Four Good Ones on Tap Jupiter vs. Benjamin at Jupiter Community Park – 7:00 – Two teams, two great seasons, one is going to end tonight.  One of these teams will go home; the other will probably end up in the final four. St. Andrew’s at Wellington – Will home field advantage be enough for Wellington?  Probably not, but Wellington had a solid season but have not played the competition needed to get ready for this.  Wellington lost 16-0 against Boca, the only topped ranked team they played this season.  Good group of young players. Pine Crest at Douglas 7:00 – Pine Crest is going to travel to Douglas tonight.  This is probably not going to be the most competitive game on tap here in the first round. Miami Palmetto at Columbus 7:00 – Columbus has had a fantastic season and should be able to keep it going.    Palmetto went into their district as the number two seed but won the district title 13-7.  Will they be able to do it again?
