Pittsford, NY Sweetlax Lacrosse, an elite lacrosse Club program based out of Upstate NY, finished it’s first travel season with it’s Florida program and are proud to announce the College commitments of 3 of their 2020 players to Division I schools. Kaden Brothers ( St Edwards) and Marcelo Arteaga (Gulliver Prep) both committed to play for Johns Hopkins University while Carter Parlette (Hagerty) chose Syracuse University. Sweetlax assisted each player in considering various school programs and look forward to working with Carter, Marcelo and Kaden in the years to come. Sweetlax has a tradition of sending players to DI schools with a number of their present and alumni players at Syracuse and on their way to Hopkins. “The schools these boys considered were some of the best in the country; we truly felt they best identified their needs and congratulate them on their choices,” commented Coach Kevin Martin, Sweetlax Director of Recruiting, “We’ve worked closely with both John Hopkins and Syracuse Coaching Staffs and recognize their commitment to assisting their players while at their schools both on and off the field”. Coach Martin is no stranger to the Syracuse experience. Some 10 years ago he became legal guardian to Hakeem Lecky who went on to attend Syracuse and served as a two-time Captain. Additionally, Sweetlax has had a number of present and former Syracuse players as Coaches, including two-time Captain Derek Maltz, All-American Randy Staats, present players Sergio Salcido, Nick Mellen, Paolo Ciferi, Nick Weston and Willie Klan. Most exciting for Sweetlax have been the numerous campus visits they’ve helped plan for their Florida players. “We’ll see a number of additional commits as our players spend time on campus and meeting with coaching staffs, both critical experiences when choosing the right school”. Sweetlax has announced tryouts for September. Information can be found on their website: www.sweetlaxlacrosse.com.
