Tampa: No. 3 Spartans Upset By No. 10 Lakers 11-5

via press release   ERIE, Pa.ERIE, Pa. – The No. 3 University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team’s seven-game win-streal came to an end Saturday afternoon as they fell to the No. 10 Mercyhurst College Lakers, by a score 11-5. Following the loss, the Spartans drop to 10-2 on the year, and the Lakers advance to 8-2 on the year. The UT offense struggled to get any real momentum in the contest the five goals scored were the second-lowest goal total in program history. Finding the back of the net for Tampa were Andrew Kew, Matt Bilak, Conor Whipple, Jud Huxtable and Mike Morris. Defensively, Tampa Scooped up 18 groundballs and forced four caused turnovers both season lows for the unit. UT will return to action Friday, April 15 when the faceoff against SSC foe Saint Leo at the Naimoli Family Athletic Complex.
