Keiser men’s lacrosse made a national statement this afternoon with a dominating victory over No. 2 Indiana Tech. The Keiser offense was firing on all cylinders, and scored the most goals against a nationally ranked opponent in program history. Chris Rayburn set a school record in faceoff wins (29), and Ryan Rundle tied the school record for total points (11). Sophomore attacker Braeden Niemy scored a career-high seven goals. 

First Quarter
Keiser 7, TECH 1

  • The Seahawks were lightning fast out of the gate, scoring goals with Ryan Rundle and Braeden Niemy until TECH answered with a goal at the 4:57 mark. 
  • Just nine seconds after that, Zach Crotwell ignited a Keiser scoring run with an unassisted goal. 
  • Ryan Rundle picked up two goals in one minute, and Vincent Cerasuolo scored with a Rundle assist.
  • AJ Badik got a goal with :24 left in the quarter thanks to a JP Prather assist. 

Second Quarter
Keiser 16, TECH 9

  • The second quarter was a scoring frenzy, as each team found the net with frequency. 
  • Badik scored with 13:25 on the clock. 
  • TECH broke the KU scoring run with two goals from Devin Macomber. 
  • Braeden Niemy responded with two goals of his own in a 20-second span, with a pair of assists from Cerasuolo. 
  • Cerasuolo converted a man-up opportunity with 9:37 left in the half, and AJ Badik added another goal 16 seconds later.
  • TECH went on a 3-0 scoring run after another Cerasuolo goal, before the run was answered by a Niemy goal with an assist from Cerasuolo.
  • Josh Bramley of Indiana Tech scored two goals, and Keiser answered with goals from Niemy and Rundle, with Kegan Hufford and AJ Badik providing the respective assists.
Third Quarter

Keiser 20, TECH 10

  • Keiser got the offense going again with a Braeden Niemy goal with 13:42 on the clock. 
  • After TECH answered with a goal, the Seahawks went on a 3-0 run to close out the quarter, with goals from Niemy, Cerasuolo and Rundle.
Fourth Quarter

Keiser 24, TECH 14

  • The Keiser scoring run continued with goals from Kegan Hufford and AJ Badik
  • The Warriors went on a 3-0 run from 8:13 to 4:33, until it was answered with goals from AJ Badik at the 3:36 mark, and Marek Albiero at the 3:00 mark.
  • TECH scored the final goal of the game with ten seconds left. 
KU Highlights
  • Keiser outshot TECH 67-33. 
  • KU caused seven Warrior turnovers.  
  • Chris Rayburn dominated the faceoff x (29-40) en route to a new school record.
  • The Seahawks went 17-20 on clears. 
  • Keiser picked up 48 groundballs.
  • The Seahawks have now won thirteen consecutive games. 
  • Each team turned the ball over 20+ times.
  • Keiser went 7-9 on extra man opportunities. 
  • KU improves to 9-14 versus top-3 opponents with this win.

“Proud of our men, they’ve been road warriors so far this year and we’ve played some great teams, said head coach Patrick Johnston. “It’s been a team effort in every game to this point, and we need to keep that going. Looking forward to getting back to Florida and hosting two more top ten teams next week.”
