13 Warriors Score as Webber Men’s Lacrosse Manhandles Montreat

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men’s Lacrosse team hosted AAC foe Montreat Monday afternoon on the Warrior Turf Field. The Warriors dismantled the Cavaliers defense enroute to 30-4 victory. 

Blake Nelson scored the first goal of the game for the Warriors with an assist from Chase JacksonChristian Tapia scored next to make it 2-0 very quickly. Nelson scored again before assisting on a Tay’Quan Bryan goal. Nick Sheaffer and Daniel McClure were the next two Warriors to find the goal to make it 6-0. Nelson assisted on Houston Finlayson’s first goal of the game as Webber headed to the second with a 7-0 lead. 

Connor Herring started off the scoring in the second quarter before Nelson again found the net, this time with an assist from Tapia. Jeremiah Loo had his number called for the first time off a pass from Nelson, before he assisted on Jackson’s goal. Loo scored again to make it 12-0 off an assist from Bryan. Loo secured a hat trick with an assist from Jackson after the Cavaliers were able to get on the board and Webber coasted into halftime with 13-1 lead. 

Jackson, Loo, and Herring picked up where the Warriors left off scoring three quick goals. Sheaffer would score again this time with an assist from Steven LandsmanDillon Ziemba, Nelson, and Alex West all scored next, bringing the Webber lead to 20-1. Kye McCarron, Tapia, Ziemba, and Loo would score the final four goals of the third quarter, making it 24-1 headed to the fourth. 

Tapia and McClure started off the scoring for the Warriors in the final quarter, making it 26-1. Finlayson scored three straight man-up goals for the Warriors as they took advantage of multiple penalties committed by the Cavaliers. Sam Shields would score the final goal for the Warriors as they easily took down Montreat 30-4. 

Loo, Jackson, and Nelson all led the team with seven points. Loo did it with five goals and two assists, Jackson the opposite with 2 goals and five assists, and Nelson with four goals and three assists. Beau Masters and Alan Basic both led with six ground balls as both won eight faceoffs against the Cavaliers. In the goal, Ryan Prylinksi had five saves, Riley Graves had four, and Grayson McQuaig had one. 

The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, March 14th when they host KCAC foe Ottawa University on the Warrior Turf Field at 1 PM
