by Assistant Director, Athletic Communications
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s lacrosse team played in their final game of the season as they hosted No. 4 ranked Florida Southern today at the Rinker Athletic Campus. The Moccasins proved to be too much for the Sailfish on the day as PBA fell 19-5.
The Mocs showed why they are one of the best sides in the country as they jumped out to a big lead right away against the ‘Fish. PBA was outscored 7-0 in the opening 15 minutes of play as FSC went on to score the first 13 goals. Sara Metheny found a cutting Rachel Delate in the second quarter to stop the Mocs run PBA was down 13 at the half. Georgia Karns got the start in the cage for the Sailfish and was under pressure from the start. She was able to make seven saves on 25 shots she faced in the first.

Delate scored twice more in the second half to finish off her hat trick and to take her all-time PBA goals in a season record to 49. Julia Gibson and Mattie Davis each scored for the ‘Fish as well but chances were limited offensively as they were outshot 41-14.
