Congrats to Maddie on her college choice and good luck to her in the future! Club Team Affiliation:  Florida Select   Maddie wrote in to us: “I have never been more excited to say that I get to continue my lacrosse career at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I fell in love with GVSU the minute I stepped onto the campus with its beautiful nature and amazing people. I am honored and can’t wait to be coached by one of the most respected coaches in women’s lacrosse, Coach Alicia Groveston, as well as Coach Rachel Ward and Coach Alyssa Neumen. I would like to thank Coach John Kennedy, my first coach for Delray Riptide for making me truly love this game from age 8.  I would like to thank Darren Jerome, my trainer at Impact Sports Performance for really pushing me to that next level.  I would also like to thank Coach John McClain who is my high school and club team coach, for putting your trust in me to lead the defense and holding me to a higher standard. I can’t wait to help lead us to states again this year! There really are no words for how much I appreciate my defensive coach Rich Mullen. He once told me that I reminded him so much of himself, and to me that is the greatest compliment I have ever received. Mother Hen thanks you! Coach Rob Wurzburger has instilled in me such drive, motivation, passion and love for this game. He was the one that told me I could go play wherever I wanted. He has been with me since day one and coached my rec team, middle school team, travel team, and high school team. He’s not only been my coach, but a friend and a mentor. He’s been with me my whole lax life and can’t thank him enough! Lastly, but certainly not least, I would like to thank my family for being the greatest people ever! My Mom and Dad for supporting me no matter what, and my brother CJ who was the one that got me to play lacrosse in the first place. Grand Rapids here I come! GO LAKERS!!!!!”
