#3 Queens defeats #23 Saint Leo Women
Fino, Gilchrist, and Valenti Pace #23 Lions Against #3 Royals
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women’s lacrosse team, ranked 23rd nationally, dropped a 20-7 non-conference tilt against the Queens Royals from N.C., who are ranked third in the nation. The Lions’ offense was paced by Eliz Fino, Delaney Gilchrist, and Ava Valenti. Despite the big day from the
Fino, Gilchrist, and Valenti each notched three points. Gilchrist found the back of the net three times while Valenti earned three assists. Meanwhile, Fino tallied a pair of goals and an assist.
In the net, Rachel Smythe earned the start in which she tallied three saves in 27 minutes of work. Liz Clark took over for 33 minutes of action, in which she recorded nine stops.
