PONTE VEDRA — The glaring flaw Ponte Vedra boys’ lacrosse head coach Chris Polanski noticed in his team after their 9-8 loss to Plant (Tampa) was a lack of energy. 

Since that loss, though, 2A’s top-ranked team found its power and finished the season 13-3. 

Their energy is now the most noteworthy characteristic and what separates this group from past teams, Polanski said. 

“It’s electric,” said the first-year coach. “Unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of and I couldn’t be happier.” 

The Sharks may be having a good time but they still play angrily, junior midfielder Will Corbett said. They haven’t forgotten about the upsetting loss to Creekside last year in the district championship.
