Jacksonville, Fla.- Freshman Jen Cosgrove earned “Rookie of the Week” honors after scoring four goals to lift JU to a season-opening 18-10 victory over Cincinnati. Cosgrove became the first player to win the award in the 2011 season.

Cosgrove tallied four goals on just six shots over the Big East-member Bearcats. The Stevensville, Md. native fired five shots on goal. She scored twice in the first half to help the Dolphins build a three-goal cushion en route to a wire-to-wire victory. The first-year forward also added a second-half free position goal for an insurance marker.

JU will next be in action on Wednesday when it hosts local rival Florida. The Dolphins will be looking for its first victory against a nationally ranked opponent when it welcomes the No.17 Gators to Ashley Sports Complex. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
