Jacksonville, Fla. – January 3, 2023 – Two-time Jacksonville University lacrosse captain and five-year letter-winner Jeremy Winston has been hired to lead the boys’ youth lacrosse program for Episcopal School of Jacksonville commencing January 5, Athletic Director Andy Kidd announced today. Coach Winston will coordinate and lead lacrosse training opportunities throughout the boys program with a focus on Lower and Middle School development. A National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American during his time at JU, he will also assist with Episcopal’s strength and conditioning program.

“We are blessed to hire a coach with the playing pedigree Jeremy possesses,” said Episcopal Lacrosse Program Director Glenn Carter. “As a former Division I student-athlete, he knows what it takes to reach the next level and will be a great resource to our boys’ lacrosse program.”

Upon completing his collegiate career with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in organizational leadership, Winston was selected in the National Lacrosse League draft by the Halifax Thunderbirds. After an injury, he returned to Jacksonville to pursue a career.

“I feel fortunate to have found a position that combines my passions for lacrosse and strength and conditioning,” Winston noted. “Episcopal has everything a coach looks for: top-rated facilities, supportive athletic staff, and committed student-athletes. I can’t wait to get started with Coach Carter this spring.”

JU Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach John Galloway added, “I am excited to see Jeremy’s addition to the Episcopal family. Jeremy embodies everything you want in a leader and mentor for students. He leads with his work ethic, passion for growth and maturity beyond his years. The Jacksonville lacrosse community is better because of Jeremy’s presence in it; I look forward to seeing the impact he has at Episcopal.”
