Bishop Moore Blasts Winter Park in Boys Lacrosse Playoffs

Justin Pridgen scored two goals, and the Bishop Moore Hornets attacked Winter Park from all angles Tuesday to grab a 16-3 victory in a Region 2 boys lacrosse semifinal.Bishop Moore (17-2, No. 7 in LaxPower state rankings) carries a five-game winning streak into a Region 2 final match at Tampa Jesuit, a 19-9 winner over Lithia Newsome, on Friday at 7 p.m.
Winter Park (18-2), which lost only to Bishop Moore this season, saw a 14-game winning streak and its season come to an end.
Bishop Moore’s offense benefited from goals from nine different Hornets. Brooks Rask, Jack McKeever, Jackson Canfield, Jake Kiefer and Hudson Bohn scored two goals each.
Kiefer had six goals and R.J. Sanfilippo had five goals in Bishop Moore’s 20-4 victory over Winter Park on March 1, but the Wildcats kept them largely under control.
“Being able to step up (is key),” Bishop Moore coach Reed Reynolds said. “You know they’re going to key on whoever the main threats are. You have to hope that the other offensive guys on the field can step up.”
