Winter Park wins wild lacrosse playoff game against Lake Highland Prep

Trailing 13-10 at the end of the third quarter, Winter Park (18-1) outscored Lake Highland Prep 7-2 in the fourth quarter to win 17-15 before a nice crowd at Winter Park’s Showalter Field. The Wildcats trailed 13-10 after giving up four unanswered goals to end the third quarter. There were nine ties and four lead changes in the game, which kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final second. The Wildcats mobbed each other afterwards. Winter Park next takes on Bishop Moore (16-2) in a regional semifinal game at home on Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. Bishop Moore routed previously unbeaten West Orange 16-1 on Friday. “This is a huge win for us to knock off one of the biggest private schools in the state,” Winter Park coach Ryan Healey said. “I’m really proud of the boys.”   Read the rest HERE
