Cougars Survive Slowdown and Beat Canterbury, 8-4

SARASOTA – by Dennis Maffezzoli   Excerpt: Derek Wagner figured the Fort Myers Canterbury boys lacrosse team would do something “unique” Friday night. The Cardinal Mooney High coach was correct. Cardinal Mooney (23-1) will return to action in the regional semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Naples Gulf Coast, a 12-11 overtime winner over Naples Barron Collier. “I thought the game was going to be played at the pace we play: fast,” Cardinal Mooney junior midfielder Charles Budreau said. Instead it was 2-2 at halftime after a scoreless second quarter.   Read the rest HERE
