According to their Twitter feed the Launch have traded LSM Liam Byrnes to Atlanta for the 11th and 24th picks in the upcoming MLL Collegiate Draft. The Draft will be held 4 weeks from today on Wednesday, April 18th at US Lacrosse headquarters. With this trade the Launch now hold the 7th, 11th, 16th and 24th picks in the first three rounds. Byrnes currently lives in Atlanta, is rostered with the Georgia Storm and coaches youth programs in that area.  Liam played 5 games for the Launch last year after Georgia made a run to the NLL championship and produced 1 goal and 14 groundballs.  He was a 3rd round draft pick of the Launch in 2016, out of Marquette. It looks like the draft package received from Atlanta is excellent compensation for a player that will be more available to Atlanta than to Florida. Whether this is a standalone trade or the first step to possibly moving up in the first round is to be seen.  A Trevor Baptiste winning 67% of his faceoffs for the Launch would look mighty good in Yellow . . .
