FIT Roundup by SportsLowdown.Com – Men Lose to Catawba 15-7
Catawba outscored the Florida Tech Panthers 8-2 in the fourth quarter Sunday, leading to a 15-7 victory for the Indians. Carson Clough was the only multi-goal scorer for the Panthers in this one, finishing with a hat-trick.
It is the second loss in a row for the Panthers who fell to Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday, in the first of back-to-back games in North Carolina.
The Panthers (1-4) trailed on Sunday from the outset. Catawba got on the board first when Dalton Cook beat Panthers starting goalie Daniel Flock with 5:10 remaining in the first quarter. That made it 1-0 and was the start of a big day for Cook, who ended up with a six-point day, three goals and three assists.
It took 1:09 for the Panthers to answer. Nate Howard scored his first of the season, tying things at one. Unfortunately for Florida Tech, the Indians would not only answer that goal but get two more including Liam Lynch scoring with one second remaining in the quarter, giving his team a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes.
