King’s Academy Co-Captain Jacob Webb, Jr. Faces His Toughest Opponent
Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in Featured Posts, Florida Lacrosse News, High School, Southeast Boys.
In this absolute kidney stone of a year we have to report another high school lacrosse player facing a lengthy road to recovery. Jacob Webb, Jr. was a co-captain as a junior last year for one of my top-ranked teams in Class 1A and is a commit to D1 Albany for the 2021-22 incoming season. I suspect he’d been closely considered for South Florida All-American status this season and next.
Without being a medical expert I can say that a neck pain lead to an MRI that showed a tumor in his spine that could not be fully removed.
Although I have had to report on other awful news items this year I was not as close to one as this. I have gotten to know the Webb family much better the last year or so and they are a great family and I enjoy my time with them. King’s played a number of great games this year as their program really took it to the next level this season and their OT game at AH-Plantation might have been the best game I attended in the truncated season.
The entire Florida lacrosse community wishes you well Jacob and you will be in our prayers until you make a full recovery!
