Author’s Note: A heck of an effort for FGCU, nearly turning around a hefty regular season loss to the #1 team in MCLA D2No. 1 St. Thomas (14-1) d. No. 9 Florida Gulf Coast (12-5), 6-4.In a grinder between two physical teams, St. Thomas outlasted Florida Gulf Coast, 6-4.Six different players scored a goal for the Tommies, led by a goal and an assist from Nicholas Bunde.Austin Cotton played very well for the Eagles, turning away 11 shots in the loss.St. Thomas will face the winner of the St. John’s-Grand Valley State tilt.
