This past Friday night, the Florida State Seminoles squared off against the North Carolina State Wolfpack in their season opener at Bill Harkins Field.  The No.11 ranked Seminoles lived up to the hype, taking down previously undefeated NC State 15-7 on a beautiful evening for lacrosse. After falling behind 1-0 in the first minute of the game, the FSU offense tallied six answered goals. The Seminoles entered the halftime break with a 8-3 lead and didn’t let up, pouring on seven more in the second half of play. Freshman attackman Reid Smith shined in his collegiate debut, putting up video game-like numbers with seven goals and one assist. Senior Davis Goodman wasn’t far behind, adding three goals and four assists.     The Seminoles saw strong play between the restraining lines from their midfielders. Sophomore Davis Crayner notched his first career hat-trick, while Quinn Lowdermilk tallied another two. Kyle Wooten and Ben Wiegel each added an assist. Freshman face-off specialist Max Adams excelled at the X, winning 61% of his draws. The Noles’ defense was anchored by Matt Molle, John Moschella, and Evan Oakley, who combined for 4 takeaways and 5 ground balls. Florida State also received superb defense efforts from defensive midfielders Noah Dearman, Dylan Lowdermilk, and Mike Majoros. Senior goalie Anthony Cicio recorded ten saves on the evening.
