
Rollins Women: Tanner Named IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week!

(February 11, 2020) – Rollins goalkeeper Gabby Tanner has earned IWLCA/StringKing National Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts in Rollins 19-10 win over No. 23 Saint Leo. This is the first national weekly award for the junior from Chalfont, Pennsylvania.See all the award winners here.Tanner made 10 saves and kept a 50% save percentage as the Tars defeated the No. 23 Lions in non-SSC play. The junior also picked up 2 ground balls in the contest. Through three games, Tanner leads the Sunshine State Conference in goals against average, at 7.02, and saves, with 22. Her save percentage of 51.2% ranks second in the SSC.Rollins currently sits at 3-0 on the year. The Tars visited Alabama to open the season and came home with wins against Montevallo and Alabama-Huntsville. Rollins then traveled to Saint Leo, picking up the 19-10 victory. Overall, the Tars are outscoring their opponents 45-21.The Tars have an extended break before opening their home slate against top-ranked Adelphi on Sunday, February 23.
