SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 24 Saint Leo women’s lacrosse team clinched a perfect non-conference season in the form of a 20-4 win over Montevallo Sunday afternoon at University Turf Stadium. The Lions will enter Sunshine State Conference play undefeated with an 11-0 record.

After four minutes of play, Saint Leo held a 2-1 lead over Montevallo. The Lions offense then broke out a 12-goal run for a halftime score of 14-1. The Falcons netted three goals between a pair of three-goal runs by the Lions in the second half.

“It is great to head into conference play 11-0,” said head coach Caitlin Hansen. “This should give us some added confidence for our first match-up against Embry-Riddle on Saturday. We have been in several different game situations during non-conference play that has prepared us for the tough SSC slate.”
