Why did you choose this college?
I like the atmosphere on the campus. Although I’m not a very social person the students, professors and coaches are very welcoming.
What are your first memories of the sport?
I remember my first game with Coach Mac my freshman year during a fall ball tournament. As I shot my first couple of shots that went completely over the goal I got really down on myself. Coach Mac gave me one of the biggest pep talk of my life, lol. I went back into the game , adrenaline rushing and got the ball on the top of the box. I got a perfect opportunity to shoot. As I shot the ball it’s like the world went in slo-mo and I watch the ball go in. I turned to Coach Mac and he had the biggest smile on his face.
What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future?
The most surprising part of the recruiting process was the college visits and being allowed to practice with the team. Something I would like to pass on to the people who are going to face it in the future is to not get discouraged. It’s a process. College offers aren’t just gonna roll in automatically you have to work for them. And skill isn’t everything. Stay in the books because your ACT and SAT scores plays a huge role.
Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I would like to thank my coach, Coach Mac, my parents, my best friend/brother/future teammate, Sheldon Hardy, and my Marine Corps recruiter Staff Sargent Clayton
