Wingate and Coach Boyle from the instant I reached out to them made me feel at home. I didn’t just feel like a recruit that they were trying to sell a pitch to. The campus and program sold itself and I can’t wait to be a part of that culture alongside my current and future teammate, Jordon King. What are your first memories of the sport? I remember watching men’s league games that a friend was playing in for LC Hogtowne. I became enamoured with the speed and intensity of the game and have been in love ever since. What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? The surprising aspect of recruitment to me is that coaches will reach out when you least expect it. I remember opening my email one day and saying “really? They are interested in me?” I started the process really late and that’s one thing I really wish I could go back and change. My suggestion to anyone trying to get recruited is that you have to be persistent. You are going to get rejected by a lot of schools, but that only leaves the right one waiting for you. Choose the school that is best for YOU. It’s not a 4 year decision it’s a 40 year decision. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
